I am wanting to start my children on the gf/cf diet, but I also read an interesting article on anti-yeast diet. Does anyone else out there know anything about this. Do you think trying the gf/cf diet is enough? Also are eggs and butter allowed in a gf/cf diet? Thank you

There are websites for both the GFCF diet and the SCD diet. They will both explain their diet. According to most of the research- there are two types of autistic kids-overmethylators and undermethylators. Pfieffer Institiute has information on both, and advice on what supplements to give- therefore, one diet may benefit your child over the other. There is a lot of homework/research to do when your child is diagnosed with a ASD. A knowledgeable specialist is also a huge plus, regardless of cost. This diagnosis is extremely expensive to treat also, but worth it. IGg & IGe testing are helpful also. My son is casein free only- as he has no regression/inappropriate behaviors from gluten, as well as he has tested negative for celiac and allergy to it. We were gluten free for over a year with no change. We avoid apples, grapes, corn, corn syrup, artificials and casein. Fresh and healthy- our diet is cross between a non-dairy Atkins and the Paleo.

Just curious, which way did you go with the diets? We are glueten, caisien, corn, yeast, sodium nitrate, chocolate, peanut and hydrogenated oils- free! And have been for several years, any slip up (my son is now 12 and a touch independent and sneaky!) and I know immediately cause he starts hooting, howling and his ears turn beat red and he becomes very aggressive.-Meme
