Sponsor quincy 04-09-2004, 02:10 AM Hi, a few questions... - has hour hair always been dry and dull? - how often do you wash your hair? - what products to you use (washing,conditioning,styling..etc) - what texture is your hair? - are you colouring it, is it permed? - have you recently had a thorough check-up? - do you have thyroid problems? - are you a vegetarian, or do you have major health problems? Just need a bit more indepth info. Thanks quincy lovely.lady 04-09-2004, 12:47 PM I have days where my hair is lifeless too. When that happens I use a gloss spray made by Redkin (#2) called Vinyl Glam. I don't know where you could buy this- I bought mine a pretty long time ago at this hair salon at the mall. But I'm sure you could find it at your hair salon or even online. lauho68 04-17-2004, 01:56 PM I use camellia oil which has really made my hair very soft and shiny after 2 months of use. It has also helped my hair grow faster. They say that women in Aisa like Japan and China have used it for hair care for ages. Now I can see why after using it myself. sunshine12 04-17-2004, 10:37 PM Sometimes lemon juice rinse cleans the residue off the hair (rinses and conditioners) Just squeeze the juice of a lemon on your hair and mush it around then rinse. I will say one thing to buy that seems to work well for shine other then lemon is Pantene Deep Hydrating Treatment. In most drugstores. I put it on sometimes like a conditioner and leave it on all day. Hair is like silky after and very shiny. kellie2 04-18-2004, 12:23 AM My sister has been doing something for years and years and her hair is the shiniest hair I've ever seen.....she goes to her hairdresser and has a 'gloss' put on it. Now, I don't color my hair so I'm not really up on the different products that are available, but it's strictly for shine and it doesn't wash out. Her hair is dark and looks like you want to touch it all the time. In fact, she was having this done for a long time and I never knew it, I just thought her hair was naturally that shiny, like when she was a kid. But after you get older and you start washing it more and using products on it, it can get dull. So she started having this done and it looked so natural, I never suspected a thing until she said something one day. She's probably been doing this for 20 years, if not longer, and it's beautiful. It's probably very similar to what Jennifer Aniston has put on hers that makes it look like glass....very very pretty. You may want to check into something like that as many people simply have dull hair by nature, and no amount of shampooing or conditioning will help. Also, the way you wear your hair will dictate how much shine there is - straight hair will naturally reflect more light than curly hair. Also, the color of your hair matters, too - dark hair is naturally more shiny than blonde. You may want to try some of the suggestions the others have given you, and if you're still not happy with what you see, then maybe consider having your hairdresser put something on it. sidnee74 04-18-2004, 12:11 PM To Lauho68 - is this straight camellia oil or camellia oil contained in another product? And where do you find it? Shy One 04-18-2004, 12:51 PM I haven't tried these, but I hear a lot about using Mayonaise and Coconut Oil... Not together. Two different suggestions. But you leave them in for a while... half hour or however long you want and rinse them out. I leave my normal everyday conditioner in my hair until the end of the shower and that helps some. lauho68 04-18-2004, 01:47 PM To Lauho68 - is this straight camellia oil or camellia oil contained in another product? And where do you find it? Straight (pure) camellia oil. I got it on the Internet. I use the Silkia brand. sidnee74 04-18-2004, 07:44 PM Thanks! I found some online - said it was good for skin too. Gonna have to check it out. sarah47911 04-20-2004, 10:35 PM Any suggestions on what to do with my dry, dull hair. It is above my shoulders and so..blah....HELP. Try Flax oil..... works wonders, but give it time and be patient works for me, not only for my hair but it makes the skin on my face smooth and clear also. :) |
