What kind of infection did you have
How long did you have the infection
What was done before the removal to try to avoid having them taken out.
Does tonisl problem cause sinus problems or is it the other way around.

I have been struggling with tonsil problems for 9 months now, just when it starts to go away it comes back, antibiotics dont do anything for the pus that drains out of them.
Have tried every home treatment known to man ( i think anyway)

Thank you

I always had trouble with step infections. I had them for 16yrs about 4x a year or more they finally took them out when I turned 18. antibiotics are usually always tried also sometimes a antihistimne like alegra is used to stop draniage.

I just had mine out. I'm 23. I had pretty bad infections as a kid. In 2001 I had a really, really bad infection.. I went to the ER to get IV anti-biotics because it would not go away and I could barely eat/drink/talk.

That infection enlarged my tonsils and such being they developed crypts and I started to suffer nasty tonsil stones (those white, mushy chunks which consist of food/bacteria/dead cells).

So, I got them out about 2 weeks ago. Piece of cake. It's day six now and I can eat solid foods rather easily. There is still just a slight bit of discomfort.

Yes, you will have the worst sore throat ever for a few days. It's not too bad, though. I did not even take the pain medications they prescribed, mainly because I am against taking any unnecessary medicine. I don't want to jack my body up.

It's no big deal. The operation takes like 20 minutes and you are outta there.

The worst thing of it all I think is that the first few days, my saliva production skyrocketed because of the healing process, and I constantly had to spit out saliva. I had to keep a garbage can or cup with me at all times.

Because of that, sleeping was a bit tough. Once I finally managed to fall asleep among having to spit, I'd wake up in a pool of slober. LOL. Quite funny actually.

That is all. Hope that helps.
