Can anyone out there give me any advice on the subject of enzymes helping in autism. My son was diagnosed with Aspergers and we have changed his diet which has made some difference I also give him an omega 3 suppliment which has had positive effects. His school is now saying he needs to be moved to a more appropriate learning enviroment I just want whats best for him, if anyone has any experiance with enzymes improving there childrens lifes please let me know. Your help will be appreciated thanks.

meme, thank you for replying I read your amazing story and am in the middle of what seems like a battle to keep my son also called Jay in the right enviroment, everything that you said in your posts about learning worse behaviour and basically being put in the wrong placement for such impressionable and special kids is also my main worry. Sometimes well most of the time the school system skips the cause of the behaviour and brands him dissruptive abusive and violent. What aggrivates me is that they havent realized (or dont care ) what triggers him to be like that, thank you so much for sharing your experiance its a lesson to us all.

We have great success using enzymes. My son was found to have "leaky gut" syndrome.. he was not digesting proteins , period. We have eliminated all food offenders ( corn, wheat, milk, preservatives , sugar, food dyes). My son gained 10 lbs in a manner of months after starting a combination of enymes and a probiotic. We went to a Wellness Center to have him tested. He also has some heavy metal poisoning. My son was "underweight" , falling into the 10th percentile for weight most of his life ( He recently turned 8). He weighs between 49 and 50 lbs now. Still slim, but genetics also play a part. He weighed 39 lbs for 2 years.
I get my suppliments through Kirkman labs, all on the advice of the dr we saw.
