I am pregnant, and was wondering if anyone knows that if antidepressents could have an affect on the babys brain chemicals. I posted on stress and anxiety, and i was very nervous about taken it, but I decided to, and i started taking it on Mon (zoloft). I am in my second trimester, then someone posted on there that it might not casue birth defects but could casue brain chemical problems. If anyone has any info on this i would greatly appreciate it, I do not want to harm my baby in any way, i thought me going on this med, would help chill me out a bit, because i am a constant worrier and I have a 3 year old at home that needs my attention too.

I took zoloft throughout my second pregnancy without any problems at all. I did go back on my regular antidepressants after delivery since the zoloft seemed to no longer be working as well, but that was about it!
