RIDS,
I took my daughter to the allergist today to see if she was allergic to cows milk wheat fish soy egg white shrimp peanuts corn almonds pecan. They were all negative so now her doctor is going to send her to a tummy doctor to see and celliac and leaky gut. I will let you know how it turns out. Her potty traing is going well she wears real panties and still has accidents only with the poo. The vitamins have done wonderful. thank you for all your help.

Hi Crystal: The types of allergy tests an allergist uses do not show gut intolerances of certain foods.
You have to eliminate foods by what you see per how they affect behavior. Did he give you her overall IgG and IgA and IgE numbers?(he may not have tested these)You will find less and less of a negative reaction to some of the foods that were very problematic earlier- as her gut heals. My son still cannot tolerate a whole lot of casein- and corn syrup still sets him off into la-la land (totally unfocused)

sorry to jump in on this post, but , I just wanted to add a bit if I could ?

I have an 8 year old son who has had problems in the past with on/off behaviors.. meaning, one day, he seemed very "on" .. the next.. totally hyper, unfocused, making silly noises. I had a gut feeling it was related to food. I took him to an allergist. He was found to have many food allergies ( corn being one.. the last poster described my son to a "T" .. we saw an improvement just removing corn and corn syrups from his diet.. a tooties roll sucker will send him in a tailspin.) I also took him to a DAN! dr, who ordered some tests, digestive and heavy metals. My son was found to not be digesting proteins .. they came out in strands in his stool. He was classified as to having "leaky gut" syndrome. He has been in the 5th percentile for weight most of his life. He weighed 39 lbs for 2 years, and when we questioned his ped . about it, she said she wasn't worried because genetically my husband and I aren't "big" people. Well, IMO, a child not gaining an ounce in 2 years is not healthy. So.. I found a DAN dr and the rest is history. Hunter was put on enzymes and a probiotic. That was last fall.. he now weighs 50 lbs! His gut is healing and his body is now nourished. He also has some high levels of metals in his body.. more than likely caused my his compromised immune system ( very sick baby) and getting immunizations. The DR wants to stablize his digestive tract , then start working on chelation the metals from his body.

I just found by eliminating food offenders and staying away from food dyes and by healing his gut, Hunter has made dramatic changes in his speech, behavior , etc. It's not a total cure, but he is better when i am able to keep him on track with the foods he eats.

Susan
