Can't find any other area where this would be appropriate, so I'm posting it in Open Topics. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to how to relieve the pain of tennis elbow (other than surgery). No, I didn't get it from playing tennis; it started in Nov 03 when I painted a bedroom. Repetitive motion stress. After about 2 weeks of icing it & trying to rest it, I finally went to an orthopedist & he gave me a cortisone shot in the tendon. Ouch, that really hurt! I also moved my computer mouse to the left side, which helped rest my right arm at work. The cortisone, rest, and stretching before work seemed to fix the problem. I still have the mouse on the left side, but have had to get back to some activities of daily life, like gardening, keyboard work, food prep. My arm and elbow are killing me again. Will I have to have cortisone every 3 months from now on? Does the effect wear off? Has anyone had any experience with multiple cortisone treatments? I should mention also that I tried the elbow brace that you buy at the drug store, and it didn't help at all.
