Cindy -
While I've never had one, my understanding is that most ovarian cysts are benign.

My niece had this, and it turned out to be benign. I think the tests to determine this are relatively simple and painless. Don't worry unless he tells you otherwise!!!

My sister had an cyst on her ovary when she was 35.
It was benign and she has had no problems since that was
17 years ago. Infact she had a baby at 40. :) The doctor
told her most cyst on ovaries are benign. Haylee

I had an ovarian cyst for a long time, I was in and out of the emergency room for 9 years due to the doubled over pain I had. Finally after about 9 years of this (it never ruptured) a Doctor felt sorry for me and did the surgery for free because I had no insurance. It was 8cm and had skin and calcium(teeth) but it was fine. Good Luck!!!!! It did come back a year later but ruptured and that was not fun, but no cancer.

although most are benign...you can never be too sure. My problems started with cysts on the ovaries. You should get checked out just to be on the safe side. You can never be TOO SURE. But, on the contrary I was under constant surveillance and in 3 months an ultrasound turned up a football sized tumor which had engulped my right ovary and was connected to my pelvic sidewall and went across my uterus. It was not ovarian cancer, it was uterine stage 3c...and I'm only 26 and was 25 at the time. So please watch it closely no matter what. Luv Nicole

All of my cysts have popped on me. They will grow, then will usually burst during intercourse. I just haven't had the funds to go to the hospital (more than the first time it happened, it had felt like appendicitus *never had it but heard a description of the pain* but it was on my left side).
Basically if it's on the left side, I know what it is. I've gotten in trouble with doctors before because I didn't take time off, but being the only working person in my family and JUST scraping by, I truly can't afford it (or else risk the chance of being evicted).
I have no family to help me, and my fiancee's family has less money that WE do!!
