A week ago, I had 1 zit looking thing about 2'' below my belly button, I blew it off thinking it was razor burn or ingrown hair. Now I have about 25-30 of them, all around my pubic hair region. They look like zit, but are not open sores, they have puss, or anything; just simple red bumps. I also have no discharge or painful urination or any abnormalties.
Im very scared I may have herpes and could have given it to my girlfriend, and I'd be so upset if I hurt her like that.
I was under the impression you only got herpes outbreaks on your penis.
What do you guys think?

Sounds like it may be molluscum contagium, but could also be folliculitis (infection of the hair folicles), or many other things. The only way to know is to see a doctor ASAP. Good luck.

I agree with devastated...it sounds like molluscum. My boyfriend had the same thing about 5 months ago, and was told it was molluscum. Before I knew what it was, I would kiss on his stomach...and I eventually got them around my mouth (luckily they just looked like pimples...so it wasn't as bad as it sounds) I never got them on my genital area though. We found that if we put anti-fungal creme on them everyday, it helped alot to prevent them from spreading. The creme is called tolnaftate and it is an anti-fungal creme. It says it is used for athletes foot and jock itch (which are also fungi...just like molluscum). Trust me...it helps. But you may want to check with your doctor just to be sure it is not something more serious. If it is molluscum, don't worry too much. Yeah it sucks, but it will go away on its own after a couple months. I think it is possible to get them off with laser treatment or freezing, but we were told it would leave scars. Hope this helped some, good luck!

Totally sounds like Molluscum! I had about 5 in my pubic area and after a month they turned into about 17 or so. Yes they do suck but mainly only cuz its a little embarrasing and they are contagious so be very careful with any sexual activity!! But like others said, they arent really bad. They will eventually go away on their if left untreated. They are a member of the pox family, common in kids at youngera ages, and yes will leave a small scar if you try to take them off or have the doctor do it. Iso Alcohol and tea tree oil do help. Never tried the fungal stuff she spoke of..might have to try it. All I can say is that if you try to pick them off you better be really careful, have lots of swabs and be ready to jump in the shower because they dont bleed profusly but will seem to not want to stop bleeding...anyhow..dont worry too much..if so go see a doctor. I've read that Molluscum is a rare thing but its funny how many people on here have it..i think it goes unnoticed because most people get so few and so small they think nothing of it and for some, they think they are razor burns. But i'd rather have these then herpes or warts!!

Actually, Molluscum is a virus, not a fungus. My doctor gave me Aldara cream to treat them, and it worked great. :)

Oh I guess I was misinformed. But anyways, the fungus cream did help. I don't know exactly how if it is not a fungus, but I don't think it hurts to try it anyway.

Your doctor is probably right...i think it does depend on where you live. I read that it likes tropical warm climates...i moved to Florida in Jan. to work for 4 months..suddenly in the middle of Feb. they showed up..now i live right next to Miami....coincidence? ha!
