Anyone ever had an apecoectomy? What's that like?

I've had two, and both failed. During the procedure I was numbed up and didn't feel anything, but afterwards expect some considerable pain and swelling, although this goes after 2 or 3 days. Afterwards I did say that I would never have one again mainly because they failed not because I find the procedure uncomfortable or anything. However, I have recently had another failed root canal and I know they're going to offer me an apecoectomy or extraction to remedy it, so I'm kind of tempted again, although my head is telling me just to have the tooth pulled and save myself the bother.

Good luck with it!

I had an apico last year. This was my second. Both were done on my front teeth. The procedure itself wasn't bad at all, which I contribute to having very competent dentists. I had some mild swelling afterwards with very little pain. I did take Advil the first day in order to help prevent it. I also kept icepacks on my face for the first few hours.

I had one done in June of last year. This was done after a second root canal was done on the same tooth. The procedure was much easier than a root canal and the after care was painless.
