View Full Version : Penis retractability problem

Ok, well heres the problem, My foreskin does not fully retract. I know there are similar threads to this, but this is different. My problem is not that the forskin is too tight to stretch over the head of the penis, its that the forskin is attached to the glans (the head of the penis) in one small area, rougly a millimeter in length. So the forskin retracts partially, but because of the attachment, it cannot fully retract. Now, im pretty sure that as a 20 year old male, this is a problem, because i have done some research and the foreskin and the glans are usually naturally detached by the age of 10.
My question is, is this common? can it be fixed? should i go to a regular doctor, or urologist? and any additional information would be greatly appreciately

Hey bud, are you talking about the frenulum which is that small piece of skin that holds your foreskin to your penis shaft? That tiny piece of skin is supposed to be there and it too can be gently and easily stretched to allow for full retraction of your foreskin. IF there is another piece of skin that is preventing things from easily retracting down the shaft of your penis then you may actually have a "skin bridge" or an adhesion that is connected to your glans (penis head) and your foreskin. This is more common for cut guys but I've heard that sometimes us uncut guys have this as well, although it is fairly uncommon. Drop me a note back and let me know what you think, then we can discuss some tips to help with this.

ok, well aside from the embarrassment of mistaking the frenulum from a problem, i am totally relieved to know this is normal. Yes, after doing some quick research, it does appear to be the frenulum. But now that i know that, i still need help, because i cant stretch the rest if my foreskin furthur beyond the frenulum. Should i continue trying to stretch it daily? will this fix the problem? please offer some techniques or advice

Hey bud, drop that embarassment...if no one ever told you that how would you know? I truly believe that those of us who are uncut should be given lots of education and information by our parents (or our docs) about the equipment and how to care for it and understand how it works etc.

That said, here is some info to help. The frenulum, just like the foreskin can be stretched a bit and will ultimately allow your foreskin to fully retract over the head of your penis and down the shaft, when flaccid or erect. You can do this by gently strethching it out, each time you retract your foreskin over the head, pull it down a bit more. Be VERY careful with this and just be patient, it may take some time and you don't want to tear or injure the frenulum. Why not try doing this while soaking in a hot bath or shower...this will help it be more pliable and easier to stretch. Hopefully this will help and you'll see some changes soon. Let us know if you need something else, I'm uncut too so I totally understand what you're up against. Some of us are just a bit "tighter" than others so this is totally common. Good luck bud!

well, thank u for all your help, i will definately give it a try, and hopefully everything goes problem free, now i have another problem, i am sexually active, and have been putting the condom on over the foreskin, is this wrong? should i discontinue sex, until i can fully retract my foreskin so that the condom can be placed over the retracted glans, ?

Hey bud, got ourselves quite the conversation going on here. Its rare that others don't get involved! I'd say that if you're sexually active and using condoms without problems, then things will be fine. Plenty of guys don't retract their foreskin and use condoms successfully. The only problem is that sometimes if the foreskin is moving up and down the shaft (and yours remains tight and near the top) you run an increased use of tearing or breaking. But like I said, if you've been using a condom and haven't had any problems with it...you're probably good to go as is and just work at the stretching a bit to see how things turn out. Good luck, glad I could help!

You don't have to discontinue sex until you get the frenulum stretched to where you want it to be. Putting the condom on the way you describe will not cause a problem.

It may be correct that there is no problem putting on a condom over an unretracted foreskin, but I'm surprised to hear that there are "plenty of guys" who use condoms without retracting their foreskins. The correct method of using a condom is to retract the foreskin before rolling on the condom.

If you can't retract yet, and are used to sex with the foreskin forward, there is no problem with using a condom that way, while you are stretching to be able to retract.

Thanx, Tommy124, I understand that and it's fine. But the correct method of using a condom is to retract the foreskin, then roll on the condom.

Not being cheeky or anything fles, but it shouldnt really make a difference whether the skin is up or down! The condom is still going to work isnt it?I always use a condom with the skin up,this is because i am not able to retract my foreskin and if i have sex without a condom the foreskin is forced back and is extremely painful! My point is,its better to use a condom with the skin up than not use it at all!
