My 8 year old is pounding her head in the car every time we go some where. She has made the windows come off the hinges and right now they are superglued. I also have a 4 yr old who is getting hurt becuse her sister is turning around and grabbing her. The only time there isnt pounding or hurting (only me getting hurt) is if i put Lilly in front. I am scared to drive the van anymore because a window was hanging off as i was driving on the freeway.Talk about scary!! Any suggestions? Thanks!!

Kelly, I feel so bad. That has got to be very frustrating. I am sure you feel like you don't dare go anywhere. Have you tried any anti-anxiety medication for your daughter? It may be worth a try. Wow that is a tough one.

Have you tried using a full harness to immobilise her? My Autistic son lives in a family with 8 special needs children, and they can also do horrible things to each other - therfore, most of them have full harnesses to stop them escaping and moving around (my sons cargiver got a hell of a fright one day when he slipped out of his carseat and put his arms around her neck whist driving on the motorway!!!) Need less to say, this child is always strapped in TIGHT now.

Thanks for the replies! She is on abilify and trazodone for sleep. We have tried all different types of meds without luck. Do you know where i can get a restraint and how much they cost? Thanks again!!
