HI everyone, I am new here.... I have a question that I hope someone can answer. I have had stomache pain now for over a year, and now after extensive testing, I was dx with having IBS about a month ago. I have done a little research on IBS and I don't think I have the symptoms of it. But who am I to second guess a DR. lol.. So what I was wondering is if anyone has the same symptoms..

Ok here goes,,,, I have cronic hunger pains, the only way to make myself feel better is by eating,, down side excessive weight gain. I can eat a full corse meal and still feel like my stomach is empty. (the tank is full but running on empty) I also have what feels like a hard lump in the mid section of my stomach, through out the day I also have hard areas in my colon. my stomache hurts no matter where you touch it. I have persistant pain in the lower right quadrant, the way to describe this is, extreme exertion the pain you get in your side when you do extensive exercising, running, swimming extc. this pain never goes away, and is worse when you push on it and then release it. (rebound pain) When I drink pop, milk, or liqure, my stomach feels as if it were ran over by a car. ok a bit extreme, but it really hurts, so there for I have limited myself to what I can drink.

I DO NOT HAVE - constipation, diarrhea, gas pain or cramps.. or excessive flatuance. bowel habbits are normal.

I have had and endoscopic done - no ulcers
lab testing - positive blood work for HPYLORI (negitive for byopsie) so in other words the doctor said I do not have the bacteria HPYLORI
CT scans revealed - several leisions on the liver.
treatment for ulcers - did not work
treatment for diverticulitis - did not work

3 laproscopic surgeries - unrelated to gastro problems.

So in your opinion what would you do or suggest?

P.S. please forgive my spelling, as you can see I did not do well in English classes........lol :nono:

Hmm. Well, I would have to wonder also, though I do admit I have gotten those hunger pangs that don't seem to go away. It's a very empty feeling and all I want to do is eat. I haven't felt that way in quite some time but yes, I had that as one of my symptoms. The pain you feel sounds like spasms, and they do hurt, but they normally come and go. I assume someone checked your appendix? This is on your right and common train of thought is - If the right side hurts, it's automatically assumed to be the appendix until proven otherwise. Now, your colon can hurt on either side but is more common on the left with IBS. But because you have no other symptoms, I would wonder about it being IBS, also. Hasn't anyone suggested checking your colon? It seems to me that everyone has checked everything but. If it's your colon that's causing you pain, you may want to check that next. Also, I'm curious about something you said - they gave you treatment for ulcers and diverticulitis...can I ask what exactly they gave you for both of these?

Thank you Kellie, for the response. I was treated for ulcers and diverticulitis with medication.. but the only medication I can remember is asocol. they also treted me for gastric refulx disease - using medication, some of the drugs were nulev, previcid, nexium. If you say some of the other names I may remember them. I had enough to open my own pharmacy. Sadly, no one has checked the appendix - I am allergic to the iodine contrast, so they are limited to the testing. and as far as the colon goes no I opted out on the colonoscopy. I told him after the colon clensing and the horrific pain I endured for the CT. there was no way he was shoving a camera up my butt to confirm his diagnosis.

im in the same boat. i have had tests for all sorts but my symptoms are not typical of ibs. I have found tho that treatment for GERD has also helped my lower tummy problems that are similar to yours. Have you tghought about food intoloerance? I was on a wheat and dairy free diet but my doc took me off it when he thought i had Crohns disease. my symptoms have changed since coming off the diet so i think i am intolerant to wheat.
Just an idea for you. Best advice is just try everything. Ive been ill for over a year now and tested for everything with no answers and no successful treatment.
I hope you find somehting soon,

everwondering,
your message was posted over 2 months ago, but your story sounded so much like mine i had to write. so sinse april have you had any more luck toward a true diagnosis? as for me ive had the same pains in my lower right side for a year now. ive had a colonoscopy, 2 ct's, and many other dr visits in between. next wednesday i will be having my appendix removed. that is if my doctor does not find anything else causing my pain in the process. he says it could be the early signs of an appendecitis and he recently treated another girl with the exact same pains as mine, and her problem did turn out to be the appendix once they removed it and tested it. i just hope this surgery will solve my problem and mayble shead some light on yours. thanks.
