For nearly 6 years now I would get these itchy/painful bumps on the surface of my buttocks when I sit for a long time. They usually go away after a week or two but for the duration they make sitting down nearly impossible. Are these hemorroids? Is there anything I can do? I cannot not sit as I have class everyday.

I'm not sure what your condition is but it's not hemorroids. Symptoms of hemorroids usually begin with recurrent blood in your stool and sometimes combines that with pain while trying to take a dump. For more info on hemorroids check out www.avatrol.com I know its a medicine website but there is a good amount of information.

Almost sounds like the starting stages of how bed sores start. There are creams available over the counter to apply to the area. Helps to have a soft surface it at all to sit, and not hard surface. Air circulation to the area is what helps to combat the start, as you prespire and the moisture is getting trapped in the area. Trying lean to one side and putting pressure on one side for awhile, then alternate.
