My husband had them long before I started getting them. He had several on his face and neck removed by our family dr. and I believe he froze them off. I think they are a common part of aging like the brown age spots older people get.
Try calling your family dr. and ask what his/her procedure for removing them is. My huband continues to get them and I am getting more all the time also. I have been hesitant to get mine removed since they are not on my face and I feel I might as well wait until I get more before getting as many removed at one time as possible. Good luck.

I had a few removed by the dermatologist - he froze them with liquid nitrogen - it burned at first, then they were swollen & tender - after a few days they dried up & turned black - it took some of them 2 weeks to fall off - and they kept catching on things, which hurt.
Have you tried Skin Biology's CP (copper peptide) serum? They make several different strengths and a lot of people have had success with getting rid of skin tags by using it. I had a few tiny ones on my neck & it did dry them up & they flaked right off. No pain at all.

My grandpa and mom have alot of them on their necks. So far I only have one on my neck as well. My mom spoke to her doctor some years ago, and he told her a way to remove them. I would never do this myself, but my mom has removed them this way for years, and yes, the doctor actually told her to do this. He said to take a piece of thread and wrap it around the tag, then pull the opposite ends until it squeezes the tag off. I know, it doesn't sound very medically safe to me, but this was per her doctor, and she has been doing this for a long time with no problems. I'm not really suggesting this, just letting you know what she does to get rid of hers.

Blue-eyed Belle,
Can you buy that serum at the drug store or Walmart type store, or is it sold at the cosmetic counters of dept. stores?

You really should only try the thread thing if the skin tags are tiny. My dr. told me that he has had countless numbers of patients come in on an emergency basis because they removed a skin tag on their own (cutting, clipping, or using the thread) and then they couldn't get it to stop bleeding.

Saka,
They are tiny little things usually on the neck when you get older. Not a mole or wart but just a little skin that sticks out. Yucky!
My derm took two off me he just cut them and I said well I can do that. He said It isn't easy to do that yourself. He was right.
I have heard about the string, but just to make it tight and leave it and it will dry up and fall off eventually, but how do you go around with thread tied on your neck? Lol
My derm can do it if I get another one. :D

Ok this is going to sound crazy but it worked for me I had one right at the very edge of my eyelid right where my eyeliner gose so with my moms help I pulled on it and she snipped it off with a pair of fingernail clippers It hurt a little but nothing major and it made a small speck of blood but it left no scar and it never came back. So just thought Id throw that out there.

I heard a modified version of this technique that's much less abrupt. You take a piece of thread or dental floss and tie it around the base of the skin tag for an hour - just enough to starve it of blood and oxygen, then remove it. It will shrivel, die and fall off on it's own within days. I've never tried it but a good friend of mine has done it to several neck/face skin tags with really good results.

Always, always have any growths on your skin looked at by a dermatologist. They could be skin cancer.
