Hi Lily.

I dont know about everyone else, but pain can certainly make me feel sick and drive me to the point of exhaustion. Last October, i had a heavy blow to my shin from a truck axle. Followed by another heavy blow one weak later to the self same spot. Although i kept the wpund clean, it became infected, badly, I went to the hospital with it and had to spend the next ten days being fed antibiotics. right up to when i went to hospital, the agonising pain in my leg would make me feel so run down and sick its unreal. I eventually got to the stage with it, where i couldnt bear to have my leg hanging down, or any thing other elevated.

My back can also make me feel quite sick, but i believe the painkillers i'm on dont help.

Good luck and best wishes, Andy

G'day Lily,

I have battled with pain issues for many years and the one thing that really wears me down is the exhaustion and weariness! It takes so much energy to fight on. On really bad days yes indeed I feel sick to the stomach and it is an major effort to put one foot in front of the other.

Those are the days I allow myself a "mental health day" and "indulge" myself in a good old fashioned bout of self pity! Then wake up the next day, dust myself off and get going again!

I hope you have more pain free days than not!
Cheers

serious pain causes me to puke. Matter of fact the left side of my left eye is pooled with blood from bursting a vessel.

Hi Lily,
I've had 2 lumbar surgeries and 1 cervical, and I have bulging disks above and below my C5-6 plate, and when I have neck pain, I usually get sick to my stomach (and sometimes vomit) and I feel like I've been drug through a knot hole backwards, I can have a good week then the next week is awful, and I can't relate it to anything inparticular that I do...it just happens :( I hope that this post finds you having a pain free moment!

the exact same thing happens to me!! from what ive been told, when the back muscles tighten up it can pull on the ribs and compress the stomach, causing the nausea.... i cant seem to find any way to relieve except for having someone step on my back  and taking some muscle relaxers!!

Great question! My experience is also that severe pain can cause nausea or a "light-headed" feeling.

Me too, nausea and loss of apatite and an effort to get any food down, also tired and exhausted. Sometimes before an increase in pain I have a day where I'm so tired I can hardly stay awake, the tiredness then lifts somewhat and the pain increases the following day.
