I just got all my extractions (23) done and my Immediates put in on April 8th and I am not getting my stitches out until April 20th. I am doing really well with them but my question is when can I start using Adhesive? My bottom denture doesn't fit well at all, the Oral Surgeon had to file my jaw bone when he did the extractions and this has caused my denture to be very loose. I was just wondering when everyone else started to use adhesives.

Hi Sm. I had my uppers pulled 9 wks ago and I wear an immediate. I never had the problem of it being loose, but I would worry about using adhesive on my stiches. Did you ask your dentist? I know that gels are messy and I worry about your stiches. I may not be of any help to you with the adhesive questions, but I wanted to let you know that I understand the frustation, having gone through it myself and also to let you know that things will get better very soon. This is an excellent board to vent your frustation and to get feedback from people in the same situation, as a matter of fact, I'm sure that in just a few hours you will have an answer to your question from someone more experienced than me in bottom denture. Hi, Kris,

I just had 13 lower teeth extracted and an immediate put in Monday 4-12. I also have some stitches. The dentist put adhesive and pain killer on the denture before he placed it in my mouth. I used adhesive yesterday and had no problems with it pulling my stitches when I took it out. I had my uppers done almost a year ago and he did the same thing. I had no problems then either. The biggest problem I'm having now is trying to get used to both at the same time and I'm still swollen so nothing is meeting right. I plan on going out today and will use adhesive again so I don't know why you couldn't do the same now.
