I am a chronic pain patient and I have to take a med that really constipates me. I have bought some stool softers because my stools are very large and hard. My problem now is that I seem to have not had a bowel movement in almost two weeks now and I had to go tonight but could not pass the large stool, it is just too big. I am very scared!!!! Is there anything I can do to pass this stool without tearing myself. This is so painful!! Please help if ya know what I can do.

I went through this with my 4 yr old son for quite some time.
I used Fleets enimas on him, it helps to pass the stool, although it is painful. The only other suggestion that I would have is to call your doctor. I am sure laxitives would not help at this point, probably make the mattes worse. I would try an enima first thenm call your doc if it doesn't work.
I know how miserable you must feel.
Take care,
Chellaine

This has been happing for almost a year now. The worst part is that I have had 4 back surgerys in the past year as well.It is very hard to deal with this and my back pain as well. I was just wondering if anything would help pass this now. What exactly will a enama do? I can take a laxative to make me go, I was just hoping there was a way to pass this big stool without so much pain, Im scared im going to have a heart attack its so bad!!!! Oh, and thank you very much for your help!!
