View Full Version : Hormone in distal small bowel?

Hi there - I'm sorry if my question is in the wrong place...but I'm hoping someone who reads this board will have the answer - or an idea for me. I have severe migraines which I believe are the result of gastric bypass surgery. I recently had an email from a surgeon who indicated that there is a hormone secreted in the

"distal small bowel after gastric bypass and that hormone has
central effects upon the brain. In a patient who has migraine, the
change in the secretion of this or other hormones could influence the
severity. "

His email went on to say that it's possible that my migraines are posssibly related. This is something I want to follow up on..though I haven't the slightest idea how. I've emailed back to him for further info, but have not yet had a reply.

Does anyone know what this hormone is? Thanks!
