I have posted here before, but noone answered me. I have had constant dizziness, almost lightheadedness for about 5 weeks now. I have an MRI sched on Monday. My question is this: Could new eyeglasses be causing this. I feel like I am looking through a fish bowl all the time. I had new lenses made about 3 months ago. i haven't been wearing them for the last few weeks, but I am still dizzy and it feels like my vision is distorted. Could a wrong prescription have caused this to happen so bad even when I don;t wear my glasses? I'm scared. I cannot read without getting dizzy. I've never felt this way before.

That happened to me years ago and it ended up being the glasses were not centered properly. The prescription was o:k but they have to be centered just right otherwise they can cause the problems you are experiencing. Go back to your eye doctor and tell him what is going on.

Usually when your glasses are not centered properly,it doesn't cause such an extreme distortion in vision.I would have the Optician do an analysis on your new eyewear to determine if maybe there was a mistake made with your RX.Sometimes visual distortion is caused by the patient trying out a new lens material (such as a patient who has worn plastic for 10 years, switiching to polycarbonate...that can sometimes cause a "halo" effect in certain prescriptions).
