my husband has been drinking now for 14 days non stop. today he decided it was enough although i do believe it was lack of cash that helped him come to his decision. anyway he was withdrawing quite bad and has reduced his intake of alcohol from yesterdays 12 litres of cider to 5 cans of 4.5% lager. he is doing ok but i feel that his willpower is not strong enough to help him alone. he can go about 1 1/2 hours without a can and starts getting withdrawn again. he has achieved sobriety this way before and i hope for his sake he has the strength to overcome it again. he does attend aa but because of work could not make anymore that 1 meeting a week. well he could of but he said that he was not letting it take over his life and once a week was good enough. well that’s not the case as he has started to drink again and has now lost a very good job in the process. he understands why members of aa have said that meetings are the most important part of recovery because without them you wont have a job or a family and yes he now knows that they were right. he hopes to be off the beer by tomorrow so he can attend his meeting, i am praying for him and all of the people who suffer from this terrible illness.
