Hey Lisa,

(Banker, I am pretty much up to date with you. :) ) I feel like I haven't shared and listened with the rest of you in ages...WHAT IS GOING ON GIRLS? Shed a little good news on me tonight...or tomorrow! I need to hear stories of JOY, HAPPINESS, HIGH ON LIFE...anybody got any to share? If not, I am all ears to sad and depressed stories as well! LOL!! :) Truth be told, that is my specialty...LOL!!
I just miss talking with all of ya'll.

And you, too, Rhett, if you are reading this female power post!!!! :)

Good Morning, Miss Scarlett.!!!!

I hope this post finds you doing WELL.....

We just got back today. Seems like I didn't sleep all week, (just too busy-----Relaxing.! LOL, LOL.!!!!)
So, by the time we landed at Laguardia Airport, all I could think of was getting home, to our own, comfy bed, and make up for lost time...( <<<< Sleep, not Duck Hunting.!!! LOL, LOL, !!!!!). So, no need to fret, about me being up late, on this Grave-Yard shift. Its just from Natural jet lag, I guess. I'll have my "normal" sleep-routine" back in time for work, on Monday.... What has been going on with everybody.??????

The vacation was Great. Besides all the sun-bathing at Fort Lauderdale beach, I went out, ocean fishing, quite afew days, with the In-Laws. Caught some dolphin (Don't fret, not the "Flipper" kind.!), some reef fish, and "chased" after some Sailfish that ocassionally jumped out of the water around us. We were afew miles out, and the sea swells were 6-8 feet. In a 26 footer boat, that can get a little exciting.!( For a New York City Yankee, that means "SCARY". LOL, LOL.!!!!). And my Back and Hip stayed healthy, even though I was tossed around some, on the boat. Alleve is all that I need to take, nowadays.....

But, all in all, it was a much needed, enjoyable time, for us.!!!

So, tell me, Michelle, how goes it with you.?????
Whats up with the others.?

Kinda-Well...

P.S.---- Started this post a couple of hours ago.!! Ended up falling asleep (Again.!!!) while writting it.... Duhhhhh.!!!!!!!

P.P.S.---Meant to put this on the "Michelle" Thread, not this one. ! Sorry...

To Lisa, To Michelle and To Kinda

Lisa - If you're doing okay and are just busy--that's great--but just pop into let us know that so we don't worry. If, however, you are staying off because that arm operation set you off taking pain pills...and you are staying off the board because you don't want to talk about it--THIS would be the BEST reason for coming on the board. Just to share it with friends who would understand just what you were going through. And you don't have to go into detail...just say you're feeling miserable...and all your friends will take it from there. :-) Lynn

MIchelle - You got my day off to a good laugh when you wrote "Anyone high on life??!!!" :D You reminded me of the early 70's and how every party you went to featured shared drags on ciggies being passed around. (I didn't like the stuff--never did a thing for me--so didn't take it.) But I remember one party, where there was this one girl who was so darn cheerful and chatty and just bubbling away about the wonders of this earth. Meanwhile, there were all these people, sitting in a circle, in their own little pot worlds, meditating quietly with their own thoughts. In contrast, this girl sounded so garish and loud--and annoyingly happy!!! I still remember our friend Pete turning to me and saying "Don't you just HATE people who say "I get high on life?!?!" He was sort of kidding...but it struck me as sooooo funny at the time that this girl--this bubbling, gushing fountain of verbal joy--was on her own!! And, seated in a huge circle, was this huge crowd of party-goers who couldn't have disagreed more. LOL!! :jester:

I've just popped in and out to check posts, as today is the bi-annual NYC seasonal clothes change! Every New Yorker who lives in an apt, with its accompanying lack of space, celebrates this ceremony twice a year. It's that "special" time when all your suitcases, under-the-bed vinyl clothes storage bags, cartons two miles back in the very end of your closet....all these behemoths of winter storage, groan and are hauled out with last year's summer clothes stuffed inside. And then you play the "switch game"--with all the winter gear getting smushed inside these bags, in the dreaded "reversal." I HATE this day...in fact it takes me three-weekends to complete, because I have so much stuff--in several sizes (!)--too unload and hang up. And all the shorts, and the t-shirts, and the sandals, ad infinitum, covering the living room floor, waiting to be shifted into drawers and shoe bags. Do you have this problem, Michelle--or--being down south you wear the same clothes all year? Also--I guess if you have a house--you just use two different closets--not change them over each season?? I saw these trousers (kinda cute and funky short legged pastel cottons) at The Gap--so bought them in three different colors. That gives you a hint of the kind of shopper I am!!! Obsessive and compulsive, needing a reality check each month from my Mastercard statement. :D

Anyway, am going off-line now to grab an armload of summer blouses that have spent about 3 years switching places each season--but NEVER being worn. I think it's time to say "good-by" to them and add them to the gigantic black plastic bag holding my "giveaway clothes." Looking at THAT bag...I think I might actually save space by keeping the blouse on its hanger!!! Ugh!

I have this fantasy dream where I come home from a vacation and just about everything I own (except my dogs) is gone--and I no longer have to spend weekends reorganizing, cataloging, shuffling, etc. In this fantasy my closets look like in those magazines--ya know--four little blouses, four pairs of pants, four sweaters, four pairs of shoes....all sitting there with endless space between one another. Nothing even touches. Every item of clothing can draw a full breath! Well...you tell me....WHO in this country owns only 4 blouses...or 4 pairs of shoes???? (Men, maybe) LOL! Or...house owners in a nudist condo....

It's a gorgeous day here and I really should be out--but my little Lhasa Theo is feeling "poorly"---suffering pain from some mysterious leg problem that the vet can't figure out even from his x-ray. So I'm taking him to a bone specialist for dogs tomorrow for an MRI test. Anyway, so he is insisting on being with his "Mommy" for comfort...I can't move two inches without him relocating closer to me! So, I'm gonna just grab these summer clothes from the back of the closet, and try them on, while he lies on the bed. thoughtfully pointing out which to keep and which to toss. (He's such a Ladies' man--totally into fashion. Even loves to wear costumes and hats!)

So--tell me how YOUR day is going?? much luv, Lynn (Missed seeing you around here.

KINDA - Welcome back!!! Just saw your post--and it sounds like you had a perfect week off. (My younger sister lives in Plantation...not too far from Fort Lauderdale..was that where you stayed?)

Anyway, am going off line now to complete the above activities and then go out to get some stuff I need, so I'll talk to ya later or tomorrow. Good to see you are back!!! You were very missed. :-)

Hi Michelle & Everyone!

Well, sorry to say, NO "high on life" stories here!!!! And I don't really have anything positive to post. As for me, I'm still impatiently waiting for surgery sometime in May. I'm hoping to be back to my old self of being high on life (well, I did drink some wine at night) after the surgery & after my detox from the pills if I find I need it.

Michelle & Banker....you guys are from the south right? I saw a country music video the other day & I thought of you guys and how lucky you & your families are to have grown up/be growing up there! It was the song "Sweet Southern Comfort" by Buddy Jewell. Gosh, that made me wish I lived there and that my boys could grow up that way. Do you guys love it there? Anybody want to tell me about it?

We've moved a lot but never to such different environments. Oh & Lynn, I've also wanted to move to NYC as well. I guess that's why people travel once they retire, huh? NYC seems soooo exciting & so artsy-fartsy where the south seems so relaxing & real. I like both. I think it sounds fun the way you describe changing your clothes around...we wear the same things all year here in CA. I do love our weather tho!

Anyway, I have awhile til we retire so maybe we should just plan vacations to different states, huh!?! Well, that was totally off topic, sorry!

I hope everyone is doing well too. I can't wait to hear what Rosie & Root & Jenny (she went, right?) have to say about rehab.

Michelle, how are you doing? What are you doing re: pills? Are you checking into rehabs? Well, I guess I should go read for myself; I just came on the board & I read this post first. Wonder where Lisa has been?

Well, take care everyone and talk with you guys soon,

Dana

Dana - o.k., I just wrote this LONG post about the south and then realized how WAY off topic it was so I deleted it. Anyway, bottom line - we get a bad wrap for the few rednecks we have here. It's not as bad as what you see on t.v. Seriously! However, if I could live anywhere, I would live in Arizona. It's the most beautiful place I've ever seen in my life. It's absolutely amazing! Anyway, see you later... I'm somewhat lost with where you are with the drugs. Are you on anything for pain or what is going on? I cannot remember anything because it seems like it's been forever since I've talked to you. Take care everyone!

Good to hear from you, ddanna, it has been awhile! Yes, I love living in the south. We live in a suburb but it is in the country (if that makes sense). A wonderful little, friendly town that doesn't even allow "signs" (like those tall McDonalds or Chevron signs)...it makes for a "clean, crisp" look (if that also makes sense)! :) Although, I HATE country music....LOL! My thoughts will be with you as you are facing surgery...keep me posted! And, I don't really want to talk about me...I'll just end up crying...k?

Banker, how are you doing with your sub/xanax situation? Cut down the xanax any? Last we talked, you had had a wreck....that worried me, girl!

Lynn, yeah, I am lucky to have my summer clothes on one side of the closet and the winter on the other side!! :) I feel for you having to make a "transition." UGH!!! I hope you are hanging in there and will get out some since ya'lls weather is warming up. And, I know you know what I really mean when I say "get out some!!!" (Agrophobia, anyone???? :) :) ) Get out and enjoy the warm weather or I'll have to scold you...those doggies need some fresh air...you be a good mommy...k?

I wrote to my Yankee on his "Lost" thread...I am so proud of him!!!

STILL HAVEN'T HEARD FROM LISA...WHERE IS SHE...NOW, I AM REALLY WORRIED!!!! LISA!!!!!

Michelle
