This would sound completely ridiculous to someone without an inner ear problem but today I decided to "push the envelope" as they say and eat some chocolate - some Easter eggs that have been sitting on my table for a week just staring at me saying, "eat me!" In the past (like 8 weeks ago) a chocolate dose would leave me annihilated with lab symptoms. So today I took the plunge and ate not 1 but 2 one after the other and.....I survived! NOTHING happened....not today anyway. So as far as I'm concerned that's improvement! Next on the list is a bag of salt and vinegar chips...next week....maybe!
Cheers....Scott :D

Great news Scott :bouncing: Just take it slowly and make sure nothing happens before you go onto the next treat - and enjoy :)

Hey Scott,
Brill news, just watch that the dizziness doesnt get replaced with a large gut!!! No, only joking - this has made me appreciate the small things in llife so much more, sounds a bit corny but just being able to do things most people take for granted makes me really happy.

Hi everyone:
The other day I had my first beer in a little over a year and because I have had no alcohol in my system, a half a glass and I felt it. To be honest....at this point, I did not like the feeling at all. Anything that even remotely reminds me or slightly mimics my feelings, I am not keen on. I hope someday to be able to enjoy a slight buzz but still not ready. What a bummer.....
Today is a beautiful day in NY, temperatures must have reached almost 80 and the sunshine was beautiful. Nice to be enjoying springtime...
all the best,
Kathy :D

Kathy - agree entirely with the not wanting to mimic your symptoms thing. A friend asked me the other day what would happen if I drank alcohol and amongst other things, I said just that - Ive felt drunk for 18mths but without the fun - anything that mimcs it would just horrible!

Hi Scott,
I smiled when I read your chocolate eating session. Like you I would also find eating cholcolate and sweets etc would make me feel worse too. But now into the 3rd year with this lovely special lark I realise there is no connection (in my case any how) as I can eat it one time and be bad another and be fine. But the same thing is true for practically everything I do. I used to see endless connections but have absolutely given that up now.
I dont drink alcholhol either,,,,,ehck no far to much like this lark for me.
Well done for eating it and glad you felt ok!!

Hi Ilia,
I have gone through the exact same feelings - making all sorts of connections and limiting myself only to realise that most of them were not connected at all...it just depended on the day really. I'm sure I could eat chocolate on another day at ther moment and get that yuk feeling again. On the other hand, I do think chocolate, salt and super sweet stuff definitely do have a positive link though. If I can get past those things (at least on one day out of three) than that's progress with this beast.
Cheers......Scott

Don’t know how you all manage without alcohol!!! Perhaps it’s my mature years but I never drink too much – just can’t imagine life without some good red wine – I work on the philosophy that if one glass a day is good for you then 2 must be even better :D

Hi Scott and Liz,
Oh heck ther is absolutely NO WAY ON GODS GREEN EARTH that I could touch alcholol in any quantity, a very small sip at the most. Gee my symptoms are like I hav had a glass or three any ways. Yuck could deff not cope feeling any worse! Good on ya though a glass of red wine is mean to be good for the heart! But I have nooooo idea how any body dizzy can drink all the same!
Dizzy free wishes to you all.
