about 2 weeks ago i noticed an irritation in my anus. i dont think there is blood in my stool so im confused on what else this could be if not hemmrhoids. i dont have health insurance so i cant really go see a doctor. i tried looking in the mirror and all i saw was a red mark near but not on my anus. i saw a nurse at my school and she said it looked like a skin tag. what can this be?

you could try some hydrocortisone cream on it for a few days....if it goes down, it's probably nothing to worry about. The nurse said it was probably a skin tag, and it could also be a fissure. The cortisone cream will help stop the inflammation.

Be careful when wiping after a bm, wash if you can (sitz bath, hand shower in the tub or very wet toilet paper). There are also tuck cloths or other wet wipes type products you might want to try, but without fragrance.

If it gets worse, more irritated, you may not have a choice but to go see the doctor.
