Hello all.. I often wonder what kind of day everyone I met here on healthboards is having now?I do not come here as often as I did when I needed the help to beat the TMJ beast. I must say I am feeling better than ever.I have not forgotten the pain of the 7 years I went through to get to this point.

I had open joint surgery in Dec 2001 for a closed lock.. displaced disk on my right side.. I went through a car accident 2 weeks before surgery and a rear end collision 6 months post -op. I have really had some horror stories to tell.

I really wanna thank Elaine , Marlene and J-man ( and all others) for the support and kind words they gave me.... I still think about you all and how you are coping?

I really feel blessed to be pain free....even if only for a few more years. My life now is a 10 compared to a few years back.I take advil for a headache now and thats about it.

Thanks guys for being here.. Your support .. and being there to help others is a wonderful thing.

Hope you all are doing ok...

Hi Bren !

I'm so glad to hear that things are working well for you. That's awesome news :-)

To be pain free is certainly a wonderful thing (I'm not there myself, though I'm very thankful that things have improved, compared to how they were years ago). Health and comfort are like many things...you only realize just how valuable and precious they are, after they're lost, or at least are no longer experienced in full measure.

Thanks for sharing your words of encouragement to us all. May God continue to bless you ! :-)

Bren,
Elaine was banned some time ago. I know she was alway great at responding to you and wondered how you were doing. Glad to hear things are going well.
I haven't been posting in a long time but check in once in awhile.

Hello Bren,

It's great to hear you're doing well. I think I found the Forum about a year after you and feel I know everyone who had been here before me. I read every post that had been made.

I came here as a hopeless multi-surgical mess, hoping to find new surgical procedures that might help me. Some type of procedure that was not being done in my area.

Instead, after believing for 10 years that a splint would not help, I was re-introduced to splint therapy helping people like Marlene and some of the others. I found out most surgeries were "still" not going well and there were others like me and worse.

I am eternally grateful to those who were posting notes of hope and offering support.

I'm doing very well now. A splint for post-surgical problems & whatever was left of the original TMJD , was the answer.

I haven't been around for a while, my Mother has been ill for quite some time and her recovery has been slow.

Again, good to hear you're doing well and a message to all who feel hopeless,
Never give up, there are answers, there is hope.

Hi Bren,

Congratulations!!! So glad to hear things are going much better for you these days! I continue to do well, and have gone almost 2 yrs. now without a splint of any kind.

Wishing you continued pain-free days,
Marlene
