I have a question...besides being born with it because someone's mother may have had an STD, how can a person POSSIBLY have an STD when they are still a virgin and have experienced no intimate touching of any kind?
Is it true that a person can pick up an STD from a toilet seat?

it isnt that possible to get it from a toilet seat. you can get std's from just intimate touching, not necessarily sexual intercourse, as well as oral sex.

You can get oral herpes via a grandmother's kiss. True, cold sores are not considered an STD, but they will show up in a herpes STD screen and the test itself cannot possibly determine where your outbreaks will be. Some STDs can be picked up by sharing towels, but that is pretty rare and via toilet seats is evern more rare. Crabs could be caught via sharing clothes or beddding. Molluscum can be picked up by simple, non-intimate touching, though they might not appear on the genitles if acquired non-sexually.
In short, it is difficult to acquire an STD without intimate contact. Difficult, but not impossible. I presume you are curious about something, so feel free to give some more details for a more detailed answer.

I've heard of some minor STDs that people have gotten without actually sleeping with someone, like trichomoniasis (spelling??), which I have no idea what that is or where it comes from.
But I mean is it possible to get an STD without any sexual contact, touching (intimate or not), sharing of clothing, beding, or towels? I'm not worried about myself having one - no worries there because I haven't and won't do any of the above things I listed. I'm just wondering is all.
Thanks,
