Hi all!
I am four wks post op tomorrow (rt foot bunionecotmy). Pins were removed last week :) My doc told me to start passive range of motion as tolerated. I am just wondering how much movement others have had at this stage of recovery. My toes feel stiff and a little pudgY (sp?), but I am able to move them up better than down. What passive range of motion is everyone else doing? Also my doc said at six weeks he will have me on a stationary bike. ANyone else??
THank you!

Chezlux - great to hear you are doing well - I, like you, cannot move my toe down as much as up but have been doing "toe" exercises as per this link which has been approved by mod1 www.permanente.net/kaiser/pdf/542.pdf Hope it helps!!

That sounds right. Going down is much harder than going up and I still felt very, very stiff at 4 weeks. When you're able to finally walk "normally" in a tennis shoe you will get your range of motion back more...it'll be doing toe exercises all day long!

Thanks Ally! That really helps! My doc gave me no exercises at all! I'll be bending today!
