i have never felt like a real person. i don't think i have panic disorder. i've had about 5 panic attacks in my life. but the feelings of unreality are constant

That's definately a common symptom of anxiety, and it can also come from depression as well.
I've had this before and it is definately disturbing. I now advocate against meds, but unfortunately, that's the only thing that helped me with that feeling, personally. Have you ever been to therapy? I would try that before anything else.
