Hello,
Sorry to go on so long, but I am not sure what is going on. I am a 28 year old male and I have been suffering from very bad chronic diaherria for about 3 to 4 months now. I have had all sort of test done, PET Scans, CT scans, EGD and colonoscopy, etc. I initially went to se an oncologists and after the PET Scan he ordered came back positive they thought it might be cancer, however, I was lucky and due to continued blood tests being normal, cancer was ruled out. I am now seeing a GI doctor and of course all the tests are coming out fine and everything to this point is non-specific and the only feasible explanation is that the scans showed inflamation in the chest, abdomen, and groin areas, and the chest pain still continues. The doctor said that it might be IBS, but that it was an exclusionary diagnosis and that everything had to be ruled out. I take protonix daily for heartburn/reflux and also have to take tums if needed and also if need some anti-diaherrial otc for the attacks that I get. I have not been able to identify what foods cause the attacks, but when I get them, I am not able to keep anything in my stomach and I get real sick and just have to drink water all day and want to lay down. These episodes can happen at anytime and have become very difficult to deal with, since they are quite painful sometimes, it is just becoming more than Ican bear at times. I had a small bowel follow through done today and the dr(radiologists) said everything looked okay. Since all of my test of the GI tract, both upper and lower, have come back normal, could this be IBS. I thank you for your feedback.
