Can a dry , irritated back of the throat be a seasonal allergy symptom. My mouth is not dry but as I talk the throat feels odd. My allergies have always been mild, but this is odd as I am not sneezing or much else. Pollen count is very HIGH though.

Allergy can cause this feeling. Be sure and do not sleep with mouth open, dries air passages too much.

Also, do not breathe thru mouth.
