I have been having facial numbness on and off since August 2003. I get "episodes" where my ear, chin line, face, lips and nose feels like I had a shot of novocaine. I also get from time to time feelings like my right eye is pulling and then numb and my upper lip quivers. Today I have extreme pain along my cheekbone and slight numbness. I have had MRI/MRA - basically all the tests and all negative - except my doppler of my caritod arteries came back both 50% clogged. I am a 44 yr old woman in menopause. My cholestrol leve was always around 170 until last fall when it jumped to 228 with an LDL of 145. Also, in December I had a carotid doppler and was told everything was clear - could your arteries get clogged in 4 months? I am on my third neuro! I feel like a hypocondriac!!! I get all these feelings on a daily basis and am so depressed, scared and bascially want to cry my life away. Please help - is there anyone out there that has heard of any of this? I am really, really ready for a breakdown.

Nancy
