Hi everyone,
I seem to be coming out of the dark woods of BPPV quite nicely. 6 weeks since my last "bad" day, faithfully doing my one exercise to help compensate, and the spin when I do it is so much less and often none or negligible. Everything going along fine. However, the last week/10 days or so, I started feeling a bit of a wobble when I get out of the car, only after being a passenger (we discussed this on another thread). However, as I'm being driven, i notice slight pressure - not pain, just a feeling of fullness - in my face. Aslo, the last couple of days, when I'm at the computer for a time. I've had sinusitis many years ago so i remember how painful that was, in the head as well as the face, and this isn't at all painful. Also don't have stuffy nose, cold, no ear discomfort or head pain. If I'm out and about - in town, shopping - it can last through that too, but once I get back home and start doing house things,it just about goes. Is this backsliding, another way of the old brain compensating or what? Haven't been indulging in any extra activities or overdoing it- just the same routine these past weeks since I've been feeling good. Could the brain have been busy compensating and then realized belatedly that hey, she really is doing a lot of stuff, let's slow this down it bit?
I also thought it could be my eyes as I have felt these past few weeks that my close-up vision is not as good as I know it could be (I wear multifocals - a sign of my age!) So I went to the optometrist today. He was so sure my eyes couldn't have changed since my new specs last August and guess what? The "cylinder" I'd had in my right eye has disappeared. He coudln't believe it, so much so that he said I should have another test in a month, to make absolutely sure before he changes my lenses, as they are so expensive. Maybe he even thought his equipment was fooling him. I asked him if the nystagmus could cause it, particularly as about 2 months ago I gave myself some really nasty dizzies doing a back exercise all wrong - wrong head movement, held my breath, whatever I could do wrong, I did. But he thought no.
Any input onthe above, guys?
Oh yes, he took my specs away to straighten the frames as he said that could also be a cause, and he broke the screw! LOL and has to send them out to get a replacement as it's always been a problem screw! I always carry a spare pair, but they're not the best in front of the computer.
thanks folks
