6 months ago she was fine. Dr. gave here LIBRIUM for anxiety and now she has deteriotated so fast. She shakes and gets so confused. She thinks she dreams some of the stuff she says. Last week she told us she won the lottery. Yesterday I asked if she checked her tickets---no I forgot too. She tells us she knows she is confused. Askes us over and over what day it is. She used to be a happy, laughing person. Now she is unkept and her hubby is too. I think she doesn't care anymore or maybe even notice. She gets on her mind on something and can not shake it---asked me to take her shopping 3 times last week even tho we just went--but she thinks there will be a storm or something and she might run out. Crys easily and gets very angry with her husband now. She is likie obsessive compulsive.

DOES ANY OF THIS SOUND FAMILIAR!!!!!!

Confusion, delusions, ability to dress and kept up appearances, and shortterm memory loss are all signs of some type of dementia. She needs to be evaluated by a neurologist as SnowyLynne said. If hubby is also "unkept" as well, he may also need to be evaluated.

There are other things that can cause the same symptoms, some of which are reversable. It's important for her to be evaluated soon so she can be put on the appropriate medication.

Good Luck.
