I have been using Singulair for my allergies and it is great. The only problem is my blood pressure has been way up since shortly after I started. Has anyone else had this problem with this particular medicine?? Thanks! :)

my understanding is that anything that dehydrates you can raise your blood pressure...are you pushing clear fluids more?? Anything not carbonated will help lower your pressure. I take Allegra and Advair, and have not had a problem (but, I've been on blood pressure medication for a few years!) I strongly suggest a quick call to your pharmicist. Mine saved my life.

Actifed or anything else with pseudoephedrine in it can raise your blood pressure.

Actually, many of them do. All decongestants raise blood pressure. They are vasoconstrictors - which means they work by constricting vessels. Most decongestants contain hypertension warnings. Antihistimines are more debatable. While safe for most, they can raise BP. Histamines relax vessels, and these medications have the opposite effect. Allergy medications seem to effect people in different ways, so no general rule applies. When in doubt, read the labels carefully, do some research, and get a decent home BP unit to keep an eye on things.
