Im on my second menstrual cycle this month.
Im 24 and this has never happened to me before.
I do have medical problems, one time I was thought to have endometriosis, it turned out not to be the case, the last larposcopic surgery I had indicated that part of my pelvic sidewall was attached to my colon, the told me it would dislodge on its on. Im still having problems but I currently do not have medical insurance.
anyways. My periods usually start the first week of the month, I last 3-4 days. well last week my period starts up again, its been a full 7 days and im still bleeding and now im expericiencing (sp) pain in my right side. Im hesistant to go to the emergency room, since ive have visted it alot in the past few years.
Any advice?
thanks,
Teresa

HI
i just posted on infertility boards about questions about endometriosis and thought to look here for further info. i am sorry i cannot answer your question about 2 periods in a month. i wanted to ask you one though. . . if you say your pelvic wall was attached to your colon, isn't that what endometriosis is?? i thought it was adhesions that sort of glue some of your organs together. i also heard bleeding between periods and spotting or unusual bleeding were also signs of endo. maybe you actually do have it? really i am just going on what i have read. i really do not know at all.
let us know if you find anything out. . .

Well ye, you would think that since it was an adhesion that attached my pelvic sidewall to my colon I would have endo. But apparently that is not the case since I had no other ashesions.
Endo is basically the endometrial tissue that is gowing outside the uterus and other organs like the ovaries and the fallopian tubes.
I have had two laparoscopic surgeries, the first one showed ( or so the gyno said) that I did have endo, The second one about a year later showed that I did not have endo, as there were no other adhesions or signs of endo.
The said that it possible that since I have had a previous surgery there was scar tissue left over and found its self along my pelvic sidewall, they never really explained ( or atleast I cant remember ) how I ended up getting my colon attached to the pelvic sidewall.
Im going to look through my medical records and see for sure what the doctor said. They could not do anything at the time for the adhesion because I did not have my bowel prepped for that.
I did have a colonoscopy ( the bowel prep for that was bad enough then the actual procedure) the colonoscopy came out normal, the gastroenterolgist ( misspelled) said he thought I may have IBS and put me on meds for that.
needless to say that im still having pains and I currently do not have medical insurance.
I will gladly answer any more questions you or others may have.
Im just worried its been 7 days im still bleeding red blood, no sign of the brownish red blood that signals the end of my cycle. Im starting to have pain in my lower left side, usually it is the right side, so im a little concern. I really do not want to go to the ER, ive been there at least 7 times in the past 3 years because of the pain, I took some muscle relaxers and tylenol but the pain has not eased up, I may just have to end up going anyways.

Hi everyone, this is the first time i have been on here. My name is Nicole and i am 24 yrs old. I have had ovarian cysts in the past. This past March i went to the walk in at my hospital and she did a pelvic exam and i screamed when she pushed down on my belly so she went and had me get a u/s. Well a cyst showed up on my right ovary. It didn't bother me like before. She says i most likely have endomietrious. The day before i got my period in march i felt the cyst which i felt before it most likely is gone. Well the weird thing is. I was 4 days over due in March and it lasted less then 2 days I got it March 31st. and it was kinda light. Well April 24th I get home and i am bleeding. that was saturday its tuesday and its still going. I have been 28 days since i had my son in August. I was also on the patch which she says probaly triggered the cyst. What i am asking is. Shoudl i even consider march as being a period???? why is my period early this month. Is this part of the Endomietrious? well if anyone has any answers please i am so desperate. We were talking about trying for a girl we tried a few times in April but i didn't think anything would happen cause of the cyst. I know with my older son whos gonna be 4 i had gotten what i thought was my period the first month. I dont really know what to think. Any advice? Thank you for your time.
