Have any one tried it, My docter is having me try it this time around. My 11 year old daughter has been using it with sucess for about 6 0r 8 months now, and wants me to try it. It has been about a weeke since I first started taking it at night before bed, and I have been constipated bad since then, and have alot of discomfort alone with it. Anyone else had any of this, maybe it's not the miralax and something else going on again??

Miralax is a prescription laxative that should not be taken but for short periods!!

My GI doctor gave me a sample of Miralax on Tuesday, but after 6 days I still haven't seen any improvement. It seems like it's softened my bowel movements, but they still haven't become any more frequent. It seems like I've been having more stomach pain since I've started it. But what I'm wondering is how long can I take it for, since people can become reliable on laxatives to have bowel movements?

I was prescribed miralax about 3 wks. ago. After the second day of taking the full dose I went to the bathroom TOO much. Your only supposed to take it for one week then take a break. I only take it as needed and I'm going to try to cut the dose in half and see how that works. Miralax is a stool softener and shouldn't constipate you.

Well, I guess I have to eat my words! It finally decided to kick in yesterday, so I am feeling better about it. :)
