sorry i'm so full of questions....
i seem to have an intolerance to fatty foods or greasy foods.... also to any kind of meat, even lean meat or chicken.... i'm not sure why and i haven't always been like this... i remember growing up and eating all the stuff that now makes me sick within literally 5 minutes of eating it, sometimes i'm not even finished eating yet and my stomach turns.... does anyone know what causes this? i have asked my doctor time and time again and never get any answer... does anyone else have this? maybe you can tell me what your doctor said...

It's good to have questions :) You had said you had gallstones right? If it is your gallbladder which it sure sounds like it is... any fatty food you eat will most of the time cause an attack. I used to be able to eat whatever I wanted. I developed gb problems just after I turned 20. I had to put up with it for 10 years.. I guess because I was so young they didn't want to even think it might be my gb. Towards the end, I could eat nothing fatty, greasy, sugary, I couldn't even eat an apple or a banana without getting sick. My main staples were toast, crackers and rice. I got a stomach ache sometimes in the middle of eating, but mostly within 5 to 20 min after I ate. I had severe stomach ache, headaches, nausea, bloating, tiredness, shoulderblade pain and a general ill feeling all the time. I never used to get the headaches or nausea or shoulderblade pain until the last two years. I had surgery about 6 months ago and I feel tons better! I didn't feel better right away but it takes time. Everyone is different. Good luck to you and if you have more questions we'll be right here to answer them. *hug*

thank you very much! i have been like this for about 5 years now... i only just found out i had gallstones about 2 1/2 weeks ago.... but i believe i got them during my pregnancy, my daughter is 4 1/2.... i am to the point that the only things i can eat that don't see to bother me are also toast, rice and crackers.... sometimes i tell people that maybe i shouldn't even eat anymore.... eating makes my life hell.... as much as i LOVE food, within minutes i am in pain and my stomach is in knots.... i also find that my food doesn't seem to digest properly.... i will eat something and within 5 minutes it's out (the other end *embarrassed*) and lets just say, i know it's not digested yet.... sorry that was too much info... but that's what i'm on this board for... trying to get answers, i don't want to leave out details that might be important...

I know what you are going through and it is not fun. I am sure it is your gb.. and from gallstones being found that is a big giveaway right there. I too would have to go to the bathroom right after I ate.. and I would have to run... and I mean run. I know what you mean about not eating anymore.. what's the point right? That's the point I had to get to in order for them to take me seriously. My symptoms seemed to get worse after I had my daughter.. she is 4 as well. I would go and see a surgeon.. they might want to send you for a hida scan to measure the functioning of your gb.. but they might not since they already found stones. By the way, I too.. felt like my gb was swollen... and it ached afterwards. It only woke me up once during the night.. but... I am glad I had it out. I am able to feel normal again and have much more energy... and I can actually Eat!!!

yep i know what you mean about running to the washroom... it really sucks... when we got my ultrasound results back, my doctor referred me to a surgeon, the earliest appointment was may 10th... so i see the surgeon for a consultation that day.... i just woke up an hour ago with pain starting again and my GB is swelling.... i don't know why everytime it swells i feel like i'm having a heart attack.... it's so uncomfortable... i also don't understand why it only started happening now... i mean maybe i did have it in the past but never knew what it was or thought anything of it, there were times that i had the heart attack feeling before and i thought it was probably just heartburn related.... but it just seems that ever since i had my GI Series last week, it really did a number on my stomach.... i have had 3 GB attacks since last monday... which is very odd and the only thing i can think of that has been any different is having the GI Series... at least it started at 6am today and not 12am like it did on monday... so i did get some sleep....

I'm all for going to the doctor, but one thing you can try in the meantime that may save a trip is a gallbladder flush. It has been the cure for gallstones for many people. Not to mention it is cheap (olive oil, apples, lemon juice, I think) and quick (overnight). A doctor has written a book about this, and if you do a search under "gallbladder flush" you will find a few "recipes" for the flush and more than likely the name of the doctor and the book. I haven't tried it, but after reading many, many testimonials from people who were facing surgery, and tried this instead, it sounds miraculous. In fact, most people felt 100% better the next day. It's worth a look into, I would think. Hope you feel better soon, no matter what!
