I am 17 years old and within the last year I have lost two of my friends in car accidents. Ever since it seems like im constantly terrified of of losing someone else. Its to the point that when someone from my family leaves the house I have anxiety and whenever the phone rings i become nervous about what the person is calling about, thinking that they have something horrible to tell me. I don't know what to do to control my feelings but im always scared. Has anybody been through the same thing that can give me advice? Thanks.

I know exactly how you feel. I too lost two friends at the same time in a grizzly car accident. I used to also have that anxiety, fearing that the phone's gonna ring and tell me that someone has gotten into an accident.

I think you haven't completely gotten over the deaths of your friends and that's why you have this anxiety. When I have this type of worrying, it's usually when something is bothering me, though I may not realize it until later.

You could be suffering from a mild form of PTSD. Can you talk to your school counselor about this?

Thanks for the replies. It's good to know that other people feel the same way at times.

well, you've just been through a traumatic incident, of course you're going to be shaken up.

just, try not to worry about it, because then your just going to unconciously turn yourself into a huge worrier. sometimes, you just have to ride the emotion, in the hope that they wil eventually fade. of course, sometimes they dont, and thats when you need to think about getting some extra help.
