no, it shouldn't stink. the smell should be attractive to other people, or his genetic line would have died out long ago. what does it smell like? if it smells like fish, it is from precum breaking down. if it smells like the female scent, it is more likely smegma from not washing often enough. if it just smells awful, it is likely an infection, especially gardnerella. I don't know firsthand, but I've heard men talk about it in these forums. He should see a doctor, it is easily cleared up.

Hey LilCaliBoo. Your boyfriend needs to wash his penis every time he showers: he should pull back the foreskin and use a mild soap, then rinse it off thoroughly. Maybe, to give him the idea, you could shower together and lather him up yourself.

This is the same problem my boyfriend has...i personally think it's that they don't clean their penis when they go pee...i found out my bf didn't clean b/c i had just put a new trash bag in the trash can when he wanted to go pee...so afterwards i went to the restroom and no toilet paper in the trash...and if he would have thrown it in the toilet it was had clogged up b/c my toilet is sensitive to that lol also once we were in the car, the windows were up and he took it out while driving cuz he was playing around, and OMG it gave such a nasty smell i can't believe why they don't smell it themselves, it's hideous, so i quickly told him to put it back in...so counting this reason, and many other things that are off this topic, i'm breaking up with him...i want someone cleaner.

please, get real. one drop of urine does not make a stink that you could smell in a car.

Hey tommy124. Baby_bytes wasn't talking about "one drop". Some uncircumcised guys have never been told to pull their foreskins back before they take a piss, then make sure there's no drops left before they push it forwards again. They also haven't been told to retract their foreskin daily in the shower and wash the whole area thoroughly.

Let's not argue about this. It's an important point that all uncircumcised guys need to know about.

Fles, how many times have you been in a car with a guy, and been able to smell him through his foreskin? The original poster had a valid question, baby_bytes was, in my opinion, far enough off base to warrant the comment.

People have to be careful in what they will accept as the truth. Circumcision fetishists sometimes post all kinds of slanderous stuff, trying to get people to circumcise. I've seen them try and trash quite a number of other sites, always unsuccessfully. If nobody challenged the postings they put up, others who don't know better would accept it. If that is their unchallenged impression of someone they don't know, it becomes an unfortunate, ugly, and untrue imprint.

I can't see any other solution than for you to tell him what the deal is. Personally, if you really love him and he loves you, you should be able to talk about anything. If he's not retracting the skin of his penis and cleaning it, he will smell pretty bad. He's not smelling because he has foreskin, his private smells because he's not cleaning it. If he is cleaning it with soap, then maybe he needs to see a doctor because only an infection can cause that sort of smell.

Be a bit brave and tell him, otherwise you may end up with an infection if he's not using a condom and why continue to suffer?

Tommy is correct. It should not stink, even for uncircumcized men. Smegma -- which contrary to lame old wive's tales is actually an anti-bacterial and anti-viral agent (not to mention a natural lubricant) that all mammals produce -- would not give that strong of an odor. Thus, I believe he has a mild infection or is unkept. To correlate this to the foreskin is rather ridiculous.
