View Full Version : Burbles are Changing: Now Feels Like a Heart Thing

Any ideas? I'm going back to my original family practice physician soon to ge this opinion. I have been on Nexium 40-mg. daily, for about 33 days, under the assumption that my burble/flutter troubles were in my esophagus & were related to non-erosive (endoscopy was neghative) reflux disease. Since Friday night, what I experience is more like rapid, hard pulsations just south of my breastbone & a bit to the left whenever I feel stressed or when I do a bit of exertion--like climbing a set of stairs (even short ones), carying groceries, etc. It feels like my heart is going at the same rate when I put a hand in the flag-saluting position. I wonder if all this stomach/esophagus stuff is sending me into panic-like attacks or whether the Nexium is messing up my electrolytes, etc. Anyone else experience this? I'll let you know what I find out...
THank you!

I have the same thing. Burbles/fluttering/gurgling feeling on left side of my chest. I seem to notice it fluttering as I breathe in and out, like the air is making something "flap in the breeze"! Dr. seems to think it's all reflux related. I've had several tests to rule out any problems with heart or lungs. I was taking prevacid for a few weeks, but talked to my chiropractor, who is also a naturopath, about my problems and he said that the vast majority of people with reflux problems don't really have a problem with too much acid, but too little! He has helped me to wean off of the prevacid and take a hydrochloric acid supplement with meals. This has helped, but I'm still not over the burbles. I just saw the chiropractor again yesterday and he thinks my stomach is still a little irritated, gave me some kind of a gastric repair supplement to help sooth tummy and intestines. I think I'm going to try a round of acupuncture too. Anyhow, I'm better, and certainly not any worse off than when I was on the prevacid and I'd rather go with the natural treatments than screw my body up more with ppi's. We'll see what happens. I would just love for the fluttering to stop. It's so disconcerting. Good luck with your dr. Hope you get some answers.

Maggie: Gosh, hope you figure this out soon. When is your special trip? You simply must go and have a wonderful time. God will take care of it!
As for me, I nicely requested a Celiac panel to check to see if it differs from last year. But my doctor thinks it is delayed stomach emptying and all high fiber food related. Have not had any problem for two days and have consumed wheat but not high fiber veggies. Who knows. Prayers for all of us!

THanks, Tasha & Babado....I may request going on O-T-C Prilosec instead of the 40-mg. Nexium sinmce it petered out on me & I don't want to take so much of that medication. I too woul prefer natural things & diet as a treatment. Tasha--the trip would be in August, if we went. THe church elders will be annointing me & laying on hands this evening...here's to faith & hope. I'll be praying for all us burblers/flutterers as well.

HUgs,
Maggie

Maggie: Pray for my trip next Thurs, I'll cover yours in August.
The coolest thing, just met an "Internet" friend for the first time. She was traveling through town on her way to Colorado. God put us together and she was just really sweet. She is having burble problems too. Sheesh!
