I had CBC tests done, all within a few weeks of eachother. First white blood count at 13, second at 12.4, and third at 11.2 normal at this lab 10, My doctor ordered a Leukemia Panel which I'm waiting for results, almost a week now. I do feel a bit better cause my White blood counts keep dropping toward normal range. Was my doctor over-reacting, scaring me for no reason? Or is this normal procedure to order a Leukemia Panel with those numbers? All other tests were normal, RBC, etc. I haven't been sick. I'm tested periodically cause I'm on cholesterol lowering drugs.

Please anyone. I had a second CBC test cause my first came back with white blood count at 13000, second at 12400, normal at this lab 10,000. All other tests normal. I haven't been sick. Then doctor orders a leukemia panel. Totally freaks me out. Now I have to wait for those results, I'm really scared.
 Anyone have any advice?
Thanks so much.\
There is no way for anyone to seriously tell you to relax. But, just keep breathing and realize that there are a lot of temporary illnesses and a leukemia panel will help to rule out the most fearful possibility or suggest a good treatment. Have you felt ill or is this a routine test that was suspicious?

No, I haven't been ill, feel fine except for this extreme anxiety. The Leukemia Panel was ordered cause the two cbc's were slightly elevated over the course of two weeks.
13 and 12.4 were the readings.
Thanks
