I have been taking ortho tricylen for about 4 years now. Just this past month, while I was taking the dark blue pills, I started to have some light spotting. The spotting continued (and is still continuing...about 5 days now) and I still don't have my period. Or at least it's not as heavy as usual. I seem to have a lot of clearish discharge mixed in with the blood. I called my doc and they didn't seem too concerned. They told me to continue taking the pills and see what happens next month. I know I am not pregnant because I have not had sex. Has anyone ever had anything like this happen to them before?
On a side note...when I do not have my period, I have a lot of vaginal discharge. I've read that this is normal for women of childbearing age (I am 28). This has been going on for about six months now. I've been to the doc many times and have been tested for any possible infections. Everything is fine. Anyone experiencing this??????

I actually have bleeding right now too and it has been going on for two day this is the third. I am on bcp as well and I had 5 pills left when I started spotting. It started off as spotting and now it is like a period along with bad period cramps. I am really good at taking my pill I have never missed one and I always take them at the same time or with in the half hour. I have the same discharge now and in the middle of the month as well, they say that bcp can cause more discharge.

Thanks...I guess I'll just wait and see what happens next month. I feel like I never really got my period though! A couple of days ago (when I should've had my period) I had a bad back ache and some cramping....but no heavy bleeding. I had some heavier bleeding on Tuesday, but that only lasted the evening.
As for the discharge thing...I didn't have it the first 3 years while on the pill....that's what has me nuts...but I guess our bodies do change!
