Hi All -

I have been regualrly going to a dermatologist for about 7 years for skin checks. (i have many birth marks) I have had a few moles removed before - and they have checked out ok.
But - I first notices a small pink bump on the bottom of my foot about 4 years ago - and just never brought it to anyone's attention. I think i just thought it was a scar, or a wart or who knows - it has gradually gotten a little bigger about 6mm. It is flesh colored and pink, but not itchy, crusty or dark anywhere.
Well i went in for my latest check and they removed it on the spot - they did a "punch cut" and i have 3-4 stitches.
Anyway - what does this sound like? I could'nt get much of an indication from my doctor, could it be melanoma? It is a strange location for sure.

Thanks i advance for any input...

I'm not a doctor, but it doesn't sound at all like melanoma. It isn't black and purple.

Sounds almost like a boil or something. I doubt it's even cancerous. Basal cells can be pink, but those are minor and easily taken care of.

If the mark has been there 4 years, I'm sure it isn't anything serious.

Just wanted to follow up - The doctor said it was benign - but it was a mole - even though it was pink. She named it - something that begins with an "A" that is usually only on palms of hands and feet.

Thanks - good luck to all.
