Several months ago my hands started falling asleep nightly while I sleep. I can wake them right away but it is very disturbing. I have an appointment with a neurologists later this month, but I'm wondering if this is related to CTS? Does CTS cause other symptoms as well, such as tingling and pain in legs and feet? I thought it was only in wrists, but I thought I'd ask
Thank you

Hi Careyb31
Yes indeed the sleeping hands is related to CTS. I get that too but my nerves are trapped at the elbows. CTS however does not cause problems with the legs & feet. The Carpal Tunnel is in the wrist so it only affects the hands & arms.

You don't happen to be diabetic do you? There's a thing called diabetic neuropathy which affects both arms & legs. There's lots of things can cause these symptoms though so the neurologist should be able to identify what's causing it.

I'm off to see a hand surgeon tomorrow about my elbow problems. The tests showed the entrapment wasn't too bad. I'd agree about one arm not being bad, but the other is a bigger problem. Have done some research & discovered that the tests ain't all that accurate. Will just have to see what the guy says tomorrow.
