Hi, My 6 weeks old grandson for some reason has a 900,000 platelet count. The visit with the specialist is not for a few weeks. Can anyone tell me anything about this. His name is Kamron. My name is Paula. Anything would be appreciated. Thanks, Paula

My mother has the very same problem with her platlets and has been on medication for it for some 10+ years. The name of the medication is Hydrea and is taken daily with frequent blood tests. She basically has lived a normal life with the help of the medication.

Hey, I Am Sorry To Hear Bout Your Grandson. My Mom Has A Blood Disorder Called Thrombosytosis. It Makes Your Platelets High. Unlike Your Grandson Who Is In The Hundred Thousand My Moms Stays In The Millions. With Medication Her Is Getting Under Control But Never Can Be Cured. I Wish Your Grandson The Best And Hope Everythign Is Okay But Please If They Doctor Suggest Speciallist Or Medication Please Look Into It And Take It. Its Hard To Find This Disorder In People It Took The Doctors 8 Years To Figure Out What Was Wrong With My Mom. After 8 Years Of Suffering She Is Now Able To Do Normal Things. There Is Hope. I Wish You Luck.
Jessica
