6 Mos Post on c6-c7 ACDF, Bottom fused fine Topside not at all. Could this be from too much activity?. Doc says another surgery may be in order, however he wants me to wear this Stimulator for 8 wks (24-7). Any info / results? Makes me look as thogh I should be hauling an Oxygen bottle too :) P.S. one of my screws is "wobbling a bit". Any help here?

I had ACDF of C5-6 & C6-7 on March 16th of this year. I have been wearing an EBI bone fusion stimulator since about 2 weeks post-op. I have my second follow-up with my neurosurgeon on Monday. I'll have my first x-ray tomorrow. Won't really know how everything's going until then, but I feel that's it's fine. Other than an achy feeling in my neck/back/shoulders and a few occasional pains (nothing terrible) in my arms, I feel fine. I wear mine at least 4 hours per day and it's kind of a pain (the electrodes come loose and it beeps at me) so I hope it's working. I'm ready to ditch it. He did say that any patient who has more than one level done gets a fusion stimulator because he thinks they help a lot. I'll update you on my progress on Monday if you'd like. Hope it helps you and you get better news next time. I'd hate to have to have surgery again just when I'm getting back to normal.

Hey! Not to worry on the bone stimulator, I had C6/c7 fusion with plate and screws a year ago next month. I wore the stimulator for 24/7 for 7 months! The only trouble was my hair kept getting stuck in the pads! My stim unit was not but about 4 inches long and maybe 1 in wide. I think it did what it was suppose to do. I have no complaints but the hair loss! You even get use to the wires after a while. I suggest you slide them in your pocket because they tend to get caught on things!

Thank you very much for the replies, noe the problrm seem to be , that the little gel-electrode eats (eats my skin). I dont mind boethering with the box, nad all. I wonder if there is an alternative to the electrode. I stopped using it two days ago because my neck was bleeding from the electrod, not the fastenening tape. Any similar experiences?
