Hi i am writing because i am a little worried. Ok here is the deal. I played college basketball for 4 years. Got done this spring. I started to expreience numbness and pain in the middle toe on my right foot. well i didn't think anything about it until it turned a bit purple. I decided to wait and see if it would go away. Mean while when i was using the seated shrug machine in the weight room my lower back went "out". it was out for a few days and i did what i have done in the past if my back hurt and that was rest. Well it went away but the toe problem didn't. It moved. Now it is the big toe and the two next to it. They are almost always cold even with my shoes on i can feel it. And they can turn a light purple color at times. And sometime the pain is pretty bad. Ok now the fun part. last thurday i going to sit in my recliner and my back did the same thing again. This tim eworse. i can't get it to go away like i alweays do. And the 3 toes are still numb. Now do you think this is related. Or am i falling apart from the years of pounding. I hope it isn't a disk. Could the pain in my back be some thing like a pinched nerve? What do you guys think.

Actually, to take the toe pain away, you can block the L5 nerve root. But, you would have to get some kind of diagnostic test done before a doctor would approve of you having a steroidal injection. The L5 vertebrae is the last bone of your lumbar spine. You may have a pinched nerve some how. If you did have a slipped disc, you would most likely have pain in you legs & lower back as well.
