why is the britissh mental health doctors
so un-understanding when it comes to metal health problems
instead of finding the cause of the problem
they make rash diagnoses and give out mind bending drugs in massive doses
just to shut the patient up
instead of finding out the real problem maybe some kind of trauma/abuse
our system just dont care.
they offered c.b.t but soon as theyve got what they want
they will just shut me up with clipixidol but wont let them your views please

I'm in the U.S. health system so the problems are a bit different. There is the tendency to overmedicate. But there is also a tendency to charge a lot for sessions and I, for one, had to stop therapy because I couldn't afford $25 per session (which is cheap, I know, but not to someone who isn't working full time). I am sorry that you are going through these problems. Venting on these Boards can help -- what is your mental problem? I have (in no particular order): depression, anxiety, shyness to the point of social anxiety at times, addiction/alcoholism, & I suspect the inattentive form of ADD, OR hypomania, but have not been diagnosed with those.

in 1999 i was diagnosed with severe paraniod schitzophrenia /psychosis
but had had two nervous breakdown i know this because on both occassions
my whole body shook for three days and all my nerve endings were tingling throughout my body.
having seen 4 shrinks the very last one eric has come to the conclusion that
i suffer from psychosis.
what they dont know is im a trained psychopath.i have mind over matter and none of their drugs will alter my mind .only sedate me
i was off halidol for 4 months but due to the pressures of work got tired
and was given risperadol to sedate me .mind u only a very low dose.
should be of it in 3 weeks.
lets talk about your problems most people who drink to excess have suffered some kind of trauma.and the drink will blank your problems form awhile then the time will come when the drink opens up your subconcious thats when the trouble starts
you do dafts things .talk about the problems i.e trauma then word spreads around
and gets back to the people who have caused you this trauma and try having you locked away nutted off. sedated to the max until your quiet
thats how it works in england this place is worse than russia when it come to knowing some elses bussiness from joe

In England do you have this craze over psychological shows like Dr. Phil? Here, there is a tendency to want to get people to TALK and TALK and TALK too much about their problems, where everyone is a victim and points the finger at someone; then the people who are truly mentally ill get lumped together with people who whine and claim to need an antidepressant because they broke their fingernail. I think the driving force in psychology here is the pharmaceuticals companies' profits.
As for me, I was adopted a few weeks after birth, then my life was pretty normal up until high school, where I was a total social outcast. Those are my only traumas.
Do you agree with the diagnosis of severe paraniod schitzophrenia? I don't know what is best to treat that. I know that John Nash trained himself to live with a form of schizophrenia so that he could function medication free.
