Hi, this morning when my dad woke up he tried to get out of bed and when he got up the whole room was spinning, he was very dissy, and he felt like he was going to throw up. He couldn't stand up so he laid down and his face got very pale and he sweated alot. After recovering for a few minutes he tried to get up again but the same thing happened. He is 57 years old, never had a heart attack or stroke, but he does have colitus. I was going to call 911 but he told me to wait until mom got home. Anyway he is sleeping now and I am waiting for mom to get home. Is this a stroke or vertigo or something...?
Please Help, thanks.

It could be a number of things, inner ear infection, sinus, high/low blood pressure, vertigo. Best that he follows up regardless with his doctor. Of course if he gets chest pains, shooting pain in arm, shortness of breath, severe headache, becomes disoriented, slurred speech, etc., contact the ambulance service.

Thanks for the reply. He is much better tonight after sleeping a while. Tomorrow he is going to the doctor.
