I have been reading a lot about nodes on this message board. Everything I read here says painful nodes are good, painless nodes are not a good sign. I have had a small node in my neck for about six months (that I've noticed). My doctor said it is a good thing that it is not painful and as long as it doesn't get bigger it is fine. I have also had 3 other doctors look at it and an ENT (can you tell I'm worried about it?) and they also say it is fine. So should I push for testing or trust the doctors and stop worrying? I can't stop touching it and it is on my mind constantly.

Not necessarily at all. Your doctor is right. As long as the node doesn't get larger, it is not a sign of anything and it shouldn't bother you. What you are feeling is probably a normal (or post reactive) palpable node, since you also described it "small". If it stayed the same size during a 6 months period you got nothing to worry about.
If four doctors confirmed it is normal, it is definitely a very strong indication it is.... however, if you are extremely worried about it still, you can request a biopsy just for your peace of mind.

Hi ysco, thank you for your reply. It made me feel a lot better. I will try not to worry about it. I tend to over-worry. I will keep an eye on it for now to make sure it does not get any bigger.
